Smorgasburg in Kingston, NY
Smorgasburg expanded their popular Brooklyn based food festival to Upstate New York! I went for opening day and was pretty much ran over by the thousands of people that came. Not over exaggerating they had 10,000 people there their first few days of opening. I jumped right in line for the craft beer booth to make sure I was hydrated the remainder of the day. Got my hands on a Hoptagon IPA from Keegan Ales Brewery. Many know of Keegan Ales, they are all over NYC so I had heard of them before I came. But I did not know they actually are located right in Kingston themselves! After grabbing this delicious beer I started to explore. They had so many other booths other than food and beer. Some kiosks sold clothing, trinkets, and decorations.
As I made my way through I noticed a ton of people on line for the coveted Ramen Burger. Yup, had to get one of those. It's basically exactly what it sounds like. Two ramen patties with a burger in the middle and their special bbq sauce. It paired amazingly with my Keegan Ales, Hoptagon IPA. The taste alone was OK. You have it just to SAY you had it but nothing too fascinating. Reminded me of something I would have made myself in college in between classes. Regardless, it was a successful Smorgasburg, I'll definitely be going again by the end of October.
